Tempting Tuesday: Not your average Nobu
May 10, 2011
NEW YORK, NY – It’s no secret that we’ve got a soft spot for Nobu Matsuhisa’s sensational sushi. His Malibu resto is one of our LA dining faves (check out our blog about it here) and we’re mega fans of NYC spots Nobu, Nobu 57, and Nobu Next Door, too. So when we heard that the great man himself is going to be hosting private sushi making workshops, and for a great charitable cause no less, we were immediately hooked.
As part of an event at his restaurant Nobu 57 organized by deals website Gilt City, on Saturday, June 11 Nobu Matsuhisa will be schooling private parties of ten on how to whip up designer sushi creations using fresh ingredients like red snapper, tuna, and octopus. Plus, besides teaching you how to craft your own sushi treats (and letting you eat them afterward), the classes come with a sake lecture and tasting session. All proceeds from the event go to Global Giving (an umbrella organization which partners with local organizations to distribute aid to those who need it most) to benefit Japan tsunami relief.
Classes for ten cost USD 4800 (we know…pricier than our usual deals, but this is definitely a one-of-a-kind experience, and for a good cause no less), last 90-120 minutes, and are scheduled for June 11, 2011 at 2:00pm. The deal is available until May 16, 2011.
